Information Collection and Use
Ironic Design, Inc. is the sole owner of the information collected through the fanmail.com system. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. From time to time email content may be captured at random for use in developing and evaluating improvements in the junk email detection engine. No attempt is made to use any personally identifiable information in this process.
In order to use fanmail.com, a user is required to give their Internet domain and contact information (such as name and email address). This information is used solely to keep the user's private information entered into fanmail.com separate from that of other users. Additional information such as billing address and phone number may also be required for billing purposes.
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive that is used to identify the user and ensure their personal information is not transmitted to the wrong computer. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on the site. Once the user closes their browser, the cookie simply expires after 30 minutes. If a user rejects the cookie, they will be unable to manage the fanmail.com service for their address or domain.
We use IP addresses to analyze trends, adminster the web site and fanmail.com service, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
We will share aggregated demographic, email characteristics, and/or server load information with our providers, partners, and advertisers. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.
The fanmail.com management web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we at Ironic Design, Inc. are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage users to be aware that when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by fanmail.com.
This website takes every precaution to protect our user's information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and off-line. When our registration form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as address and phone number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry. While on a secure page, such as the fanmail.com signup, the lock icon of Web browsers becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open and not secure.
We use encryption to protect sensitve information online. We also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our user's information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices.
Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment and rigorously maintained to protect against security compromises.
Correction/Updating Personal Information
If a user's information changes (such as your zip code), or if a user no longer desires our service, the user is free at any time to update their information or withdraw from the service. They can do this by visiting the fanmail.com management web site and updating or removing their records from our system.
